Here is the list that our facilitator Maureen Sullivan has sent for recomended reading for NELLS participants. There will not be a test, or even a quiz, on these materials. However, if you have read them it will enrich your conversations throughout the leadership retreat, and your thinking beyond the retreat.

Quite the list-- I am overwhelmed! Since I know I'll either be using interlibrary loan or purchasing to get hold of most of these, are there are any that people really love? Let's be honest here. Good chance I will read a few, but certainly not all!

I really like Daniel Golman. I've been to three workshops this year where Emotional Intelligence was discussed. I've heard good things about Gladwell too. My sister-in-law is a conference planner and he was one of her keynote speakers. My problem is I want to read all of these but with three little ones and working full-time my reading time is limited (I may just have to give up TV!)

Please know that none of the items oin the list are required reading. I wanted you to know who has and continues to influence my work. Of the items on the list, the two I most recommend are the Scholtes book and Annie McKee et al. Becoming a Resonant Leader. the most imporatant preparation for the symposium is that you come ready to engage and share from your own experience. I look forward to our work together.
